Pick 'n Pay, a leading retail brand in fast moving consumer goods, has entered the retail pharmacy field with the opening of six pharmacies in various Hypermarkets. Current locations include Ottery (Cape Town), Faerie Glen (Pretoria), Boksburg, Steeldale and Norwood (Johannesburg) and Bedworth Park (Vaal Triangle).
Hippo Zourides, national pharmacy coordinator, says Pick 'n Pay is very proud of our ongoing relationship with QASA and our service offering is now extended to all persons with mobility impairmentsâ€.
Renowned for its low prices, the group has extended this policy to all medicines and supplements sold in its pharmacies. Hippo says: "The pharmacies are able to supply all people living with mobility impairments their total requirements of medicine and consumables.
"We invite all interested parties to visit their local Pick 'n Pay discount pharmacy manager their specific needs for consumable items. The range is quite substantial and we would like to ensure that we stock the correct items required by the disabled community."
QASA's Ari Seirlis and Jakkie Peters have held in depth discussions with Pick 'n Pay on ways and means of assisting QASA members to secure their monthly requirements from these pharmacies.
Says Ari "Our relationship with Pick 'n Pay has developed over many years and we welcome this new move in supplying our members with a wide range of competitive products". Pick 'n Pay intend on rolling out further discount pharmacies in the near future. A new site is planned for Durban, along with increased numbers in Cape Town and Pretoria.
