HOTspot News - Cape Town hosts Disabled Golf Open

The 10th Nedbank SA Disabled Golf Open 2007 takes place at Erinvale in Cape Town from 14 to 17 May 2007. According to South African Disabled Golf Association (SADGA) executive director Eugene Vorster, last year’s event broke all previous records, including the number of entries, the number of lady competitors and international entries as well as juniors.

“We’re hoping to further expand this tournament and are again looking for record entries. This year we have international entrants from France, Wales, Holland, USA, Scotland, Germany, UK, Sweden and we’re thrilled that the world’s top one-armed player will be participating”, said Vorster. He added that the partnership with Nedbank continues as the title sponsor for this event.

“Nedbank is also the sponsor of our First Swing Clinics which have yielded amazing results, not only exposing the disabled to the world and therapy of golf, but also in helping children with severe disabilities to look beyond their perceived limitations”, he said. Entries for the tournament are now closed.
