2006 Commonwealth Games, Melbourne Australia

The 2006 Commonwealth Games are hosted by Melbourne, in Australia from 15 to 26 March. At the 2002 Games in Manchester, Team South Africa placed sixth on the medals table, picking up 46 medals, including nine gold. Australia topped the medals table with 206 in total, including 82 gold, while hosts England finished second with 165 medals, including 54 gold.
