News & Views - Absa helps disabled customers and staff

Physically challenged customers will soon be able to enjoy stress-free banking as Absa is making available 100 wheelchairs at select branches around the country. Elderly people, pregnant women and disabled individuals can use the wheelchairs when visiting branches, or even borrow one to shop in the centres and malls where branches are situated.

Absa will also assist customers who are visually impaired by providing magnifiers to make reading documents and banking stationery easier. While making banking more accessible for disabled customers, Absa is supporting the needs of its disabled employees. The Employee Disability Support Fund provides financial assistance to Absa employees with disabilities for assistive devices and equipment.
