QASA News - Sandown Motors Drives Disabled Golf

Sandown Motors donated two brand-new Mercedes-Benz Vito's valued at R400 000.00 each to a very worthy cause - the South African Disabled Golf Association (SADGA). Mr. Ralph Nortje, managing director of Sandown Motors Mercedes-Benz, handed the keys of both Mercedes-Benz Vito's to Eugene Vorster, the director of SADGA.

“These vehicles are going to make a huge impact on our association as transport has been a serious problem for these clinics. Sandown Motors are helping us to help others, in effect, they are enabling the disabled.” Says Eugene Vorster.

As the vans are being donated to two of SA’s biggest centres, Cape Town and Johannesburg, this will allow SADGA to transport disabled school-going children to their flagship First Swing Development Programme and SADGA’s various golfing clinics. They will also be used at the Nedbank SA Disabled Golf Open 2008 to transport local and international disabled golfers. SADGA also holds regional golf days once a month to invite able-bodied golfers to play together with disabled golfers. Says Eugene. “I want to extend a personal thank you to Sandown Motors for ‘driving’ disabled golf!”
