Nedbank Curamus Oxbow Fly Fishing nets new records
A record haul of 56 trout was caught at the Nedbank Curamus Fly Fishing Competitions for people with disabilities held at Oxbow for the third year. The competition was points based and all trout caught were immediately released. Prizes were awarded to the four contestants with the most points at the end of the day.SuperSport captured the action with the winner, Johan Crouse, hooking 13 fish, more than double his nearest competitor, Martin Buys who finished with six. Bhekani Mchunu finished in third place with a total of five trout.
They will join the Belfast winners, Duggie Wessels, Buks Viljoen and Jaco van Niekerk, in the Nedbank Curamus team competing against 80 able bodied fishermen later this year. Many thanks to Curamus, Oxbow and the volunteers involved. We look forward to building on this success as we continue to Make Things Happen for people with disabilities.
Oh yes, and congratulations to Arthur who finally caught a fish!
