Thanks for Your Memories
We were almost overwhelmed by the response to last year’s photographic collaboration with Canon and the College of Digital Photography.
The theme of the competition was “Inspirational Aspects of Disability” and each photo told a poignant story confined only by the four corners of the globe.
We imagined that choosing a winner out of the 12 finalists (May/June - Eric Miller, Illse du Preez, Pierre Prins and Rudi Swanepoel; July/August - Gill Taylor, Janine Vorster, Leon Pelser and Riana Willemse; Sept/Oct Carin Viljoen, Johann Lubbe, Koos Jacobs and Riette du Preez) would be an easy task but the judges just couldn’t make up their minds!
And so, after much debate, the winners are:
Rudi Swanepoel’s romantic wedding shot (May/June),
Riette du Preez haunting dawn ride (July/August),
Pierre Prins’ incredible action shot of Wheelchair Racing in action (May/ June).
In addition to the Canon Powershot SX100IS Camera which each of the finalists won Pierre has also won an incredible Canon EOS 450D Camera with flash valued at R12000 and Riette and Rudi won photography courses to help them further hone their skills.
To everybody who entered, thanks for your memories!
