QASA -- KwaZulu-Natal Digital Village Offers New Training

The KwaZulu-Natal Digital Village continues to be a great success and the demand for courses is increasing. The Digital Village currently offers a “Basic Computer Literacy” course. This one week course takes the learners from never having used a computer before to a simple level of computer competency.

QASA is proud to announce its new offering, the Computer Digital Literacy course. The Digital Literacy Curriculum is a cutting-edge learning programme for those new to computing, regardless of their background.

The curriculum provides awareness and essential skills content designed to help individuals confidently use computer technology in everyday life. Whether the learner is entirely new to computing or has some experience, the curriculum will help them to develop a fundamental understanding of computers.

The course includes five sections:

•Computer Basics
•The Internet and World Wide Web
•Productivity Programmes
•Computer Security and Privacy
•Digital Lifestyle
From using the internet, to sending email and creating a résumé, the Digital Literacy Curriculum helps the learner to develop the essential skills they need to compute with confidence. This course is the next step for learners who have already completed the Basic Computer Literacy course as their computing skills and poise will be fine-tuned. It is also suitable for the more advanced leaner or those who have some computer skill and would like to refresh and expand their knowledge.
