Not only did 156 intrepid quad riders with disabilities complete an epic ride from Durban to Carnival City near Johannesburg, but an incredible R235 000 was raised for QASA.
Our start picture gives just a tiny taste of the action and excitement of the ambitious Quads for Quads ride from KZN to Gauteng in the first week of December.
A total of 156 quad riders with disabilities rode from north of Durban to Carnival City over a period of four days and only 20 km of that whole route was on tar! It wasn't a race or a rally, but more of an adventure and a movement - there was fabulous camaraderie amongst the participators along the route and at the over-night stops.
The concept for Quads for Quads was brought to QASA by Glen Foley and Corinne Andrews who handled the planning and running of the event. Originally targeted to attract around 100 participators, the final field reached past the 150 mark. It is firmly believed that Quads for Quads will become a highly popular – and unique – annual, which will re-write the record books.
